Loads of place names have the same parts to it, like Ham, wick bridge etc. Some are obvious, and I know that Ham is short for hamlet, but there are loads that I don't know! Id there a website with a dictionary of these?
Does any one know about the meaning of place names?

Reply:I Googled 'meaning place name elements' and got quite a few sites like the one below.
