I'm having twin girls, help with meaning of names?
Maia - a Greek name which means "Mother."

Sanaa - a Swahili name which means "Work of Art" or "Beauty."

Aaliyah - a Hebrew name which means "Ascender."

Akasha - a Sanskrit name which means "Sky." In Hinduism it one of the five great elements. It is also a term used in Wicca (Neopaganism - the worship of nature.) It is the fifth or "other" element.

Reply:Maia: Maia, in Greek mythology, is the eldest of the Pleiades, the seven daughters of Atlas and Pleione. She and her sisters, born on Mount Cyllene in Arcadia, are sometimes called mountain goddesses. Maia was the oldest, most beautiful and shyest. She is also the goddess of fields.

Akasha: "Non-visible." Inner sky, or ether. A broad term referring to the "fifth element" of the physical plane (earth, air, fire, water and akasha), perceived as the rarified space or fluid plasma that pervades the universe. Even more subtly, akasha names the inner mind or superconscious stratum. It is through psychic penetration into the akasha that great cosmic knowledge is gathered and the entire circle of time, past, present and future can be known.

Reply:Remember this: these girls - when they get in preschool - and they must learn how to spell their names. And teachers/friends and friend's parents must remember their names... This is quite a challenge: seems pretty hard. Why dont you go for something more easy? Something that is easy to say and easy to figure. Two names that fit together. (kind of like yin and yang) They don't have to rhyme or anything, but they must sound good together without risking a mix.
